New friends and what not...

Wow nearly a month since I last posted anything!

Well all I can say is this time of year is horrible for finding time for yourself.

We have had a new addition to our family, His name is George and he's a 3-4 year old fresh water turtle. The kids are thrilled by it all but don't know really what to make of it. George was found in the middle of the road one night, very malnourished and cared and has settled nicely into the family.

The end of year parties are happening, Eilish performed in the schools Carols by Candlelight thingy. She was a shepherd. And looked gorgeous. She's getting all excited by the idea of a picnic tomorrow for the student association Christmas break up. I figure I had better pack the kite :-)

Well had better ready the band wagon I suppose, Catch ya round!

Sick! Sick! Sick!

Well it's been a while! Things are happening here at an alarming rate. I have been knocked out of action by the flu, it's nearly three weeks since I caught it and am still sick :-P But all is looking up. I have finished study for the year, WOO HOO!!! But am not looking forward to the holidays with no job and no child care. Oh well, a good chance to spend some time with the kids I suppose.

We just have a great street party on Sunday, Mary K and Dad invited everyone in the street for a picnic and we had a ball! I don't know who had more fun, the adults or the kids. Lots of food, lots of company and games. A few beers didn't go astray either.

Anyway this is going to have to end here for now. Things to do, places to be!

Arrghhh!!!!

I have just finished reading one of the most interesting and annoying books I have ever read! And the bloody thing is missing the last 32 pages. Instead it has the first 32 pages, placed in the back of the book. Just as they were getting into the investigation, IT STOPS!!!

The book is The Fakes Progress: the story of a master faker. And is the story of Tom Keating, a Cockney artist with a taste for the irreverent. I must say though, it is a fascinating book and I have really enjoyed reading about his struggles and the way in which he got it back on the idiots that sold his fakes.

It really begs the question of is a faker truly an artist or a fraud. I would be interested to know how much is written and available about this shonky area of art. I intend to pay a visit to my local arts college to have a look in their library to see what they do have on the shelves and whether or not they encourage they students to study the master fakers.

until then,
